David Beckham for H and M
Yes, it’s really true: H&M revealed that David Beckham is teaming up with them to launch his new bodywear range. This will be a bodywear range for men available to millions of fans globally through a long-term partnership.
Unfortunately this means that there won’t be any lady’s underwear (?), but maybe nice underwear as a present for your brother/father/friend?
For David Beckham is this the start of his own DAVID BECKHAM bodywear line that will be exclusively sold by H&M in around 1800 H&M stores in around 40 countries worldwide. Seasonally, new Bodywear products will be launched. The initial range will be launched to coincide with Valentine’s Day 2012 from February 2nd.
“Over the past year, I’ve been developing my Bodywear range with my team and I’m extremely positive about what we have designed and produced,” said David Beckham. “The final piece in the jigsaw was a retail partner who has the vision and capability to distribute these products globally. In H&M we have found the perfect partner to collaborate with going forward, I’m excited and looking forward to showcasing the range to H&M customers from February.”
“David Beckham is a true icon both of sport and style. It is incredibly exciting for H&M to be entering into a long-term partnership with him for his DAVID BECKHAM Bodywear line. It is the start of an amazing adventure for us at H&M. Valentine’s Day in 2012 is going to be a very exciting time indeed”, says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s Head of Design.
David Beckham does this together with Simon Fuller, his long time business partner.
I expect very sportive underwear!
What do you think about it and what do you expect?

Movies for fashion inspiration
A lot of styles are inspired and started by celebrity’s and icons. For example the little black dress (LBD) worn and became famous by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tyffany’s.
Last week I got a little bored and wanted to watch a movie. I bumped into a few quite older movies with lovely clothes. I haven’t seen them all, but I want to share my ‘must see fashion-inspiration movies’. I will put a link underneath each movie that you can watch it right away. (do you already know http://www.letmewatchthis.ch ?)
So, first of all:
Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Blake Edward films this movie in 1961. This movie is very important in the fashion history. The Little Black Dress comes originally from an idea of Coco Chanel in 1926, which was called by the American Vogue as the ‘Ford dress’. It became right away the most chic dress. I like the elegance of Audrey Hepburn, and I totally agree that she’s the trendsetter of this dress.
This time two versions of the ‘same’ movie: ‘Dr No’, filmed by Terence Young in 1962 and ‘Die Another Day’, filmed by Lee Tamahori in 2002. In these movies the bond girl Ursula Andress (1962) and Halle Barry (2002) rise out of the Ocean to seduce the 007 agent. They’re wearing a similar bikini in this scene and thank a part of their fame thanks to this movie.
Dr No: http://www.letmewatchthis.ch/watch-2576-James-Bond-Dr-No
Die another day: http://www.letmewatchthis.ch/watch-1572-James-Bond-Die-Another-Day
For now the last movie is: ‘Witness for the Prosecution’, filmed by Billy Wilder in 1957. In a big part of this movie appears Marlene Dietrich in a trenchcoat to underline that no one can spot with her personality and her clothing style. The trenchcoat is in the same time comfortable and accentuates the body of a woman because of the waste belt.

Have you already seen a movie? Or do you have another ‘fashionable’ movie? I’m curious to hear it!

United Nude
A few weeks ago, I was walking down the streets in Amsterdam in the “9 straatjes” (the nine streets). These streets are very popular shopping streets, with vintage stores, designer boutiques, art galleries, jewellers, gift shops, fashion shops and specialist businesses.
I passed the store United Nude (UN) where my eye caught the attention of heels with the bottom of a chair.
Eamz: The United Nude Eamz is conceptually inspired by a furniture design classic; the Charles and Ray Eames chair. The United Nude Eamz shoe is an ode to their vision.
United Nude products are about clear concepts, elegance and innovation.
The first time I heard about United Nude was in the Dutch Elle-magazine. In this magazine I read an article about a new store that was going to be opened in Amsterdam with amazing shoes: United Nude. The opening of this store in Amsterdam was by the way 22 October 2009.
Because of the intriguing shoes in the window, I entered the store to have a look. I bumped into the amazing €995,- plateau high heels, with black and gold leather.
I immediately called this pair of really "killer" heels my favourite. Although these are too expensive, not really wearable, and too extrovert for me, I definitely liked the design and the way the leather is workin out on the heels. This would really be a good match for Lady Gaga.
OH MY GAWD, just as I’m typing, right now, I am googling United Nude and found a news-article about Lady Gaga wearing a dress from the Dutch designer Iris van Herpen and, yes it’s true: shoes from United Nude, and not just random shoes, NOPE, the shoes I’m just telling you about. I honestly just found out! How bizarre this prediction!
I like how this blog turned out in a lovely surprise.
I found out that the shoe I’m telling you about is co-designed by Iris van Herpen:
“Iris van Herpen X United Nude Synesthesia: see the link: http://www.unitednude.com/products/limited-edition/iris-van-herpen-x-united-nude
The Iris van Herpen X United Nude product is a glamorous ankle bootie with smooth round lines and golden leather detailing on the front and back of the shoe, with three-dimensional characteristics. Transparency, reflections and movements create the effect of visual estrangement. The construction of the shoe is so complicated and precise that each pair is 100% hand-made with the highest grade Italian kid leather available.”
The Iris Heel is a collaboration between United Nude and Iris van Herpen. The heel made its debut during Ms. van Herpen’s A/W 2010 catwalk show during London Fashion Week. The collaboration came about when United Nude’s Creative Director Rem D. Koolhaus met Iris and offered to make heels for her. Iris is made out of Italian Kidskin Leather and is completely handmade with gold detailing in the front and back of the heel. Only 168 pairs in black and 72 pairs in ivory will be available at select retailers and United Nude stores in Amsterdam, New York, Shanghai and Vienna for $1,295 USD(1,000 Euro).
Iris van Herpen also designed another shoe: The Iris van Herpen X United Nude product is a glamorous ankle bootie with smooth round lines and golden leather detailing on the front and back of the shoe, with three-dimensional characteristics. Transparency, reflections and movements create the effect of visual estrangement. The construction of the shoe is so complicated and precise that each pair is 100% hand-made with the highest grade Italian kid leather available. WOW
This one is available in black, tan (light brown), off white and black with a metal chain.

A shoe is just a shoe
An amazing designer is Jimmy Choo
Now I’m telling you about UnitedNude,
Which I just have reviewed.
This turned out to be a surprise,
That you witnessed with your own eyes.

Amsterdam International Fashion Week: day 1
Livestream Amsterdam International Fashion Week
First: SIS by Spijkers en Spijkers around 6.30 PM
Around 8.47PM. The website refreshes again, and finally the live stream video pops up. For a few seconds I could see a girl shouting through the microphone: “Do I have to speak louder?” After this I can only see a shot of the catwalk and the projection of a beamer with: Spijkers en Spijkers. This is the only thing I can see for a while, with sometimes people walking by.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the website, there is an area wit hall the tweets of people who tweet with #AIFW. This makes the waiting much more fun. Even some pictures from people who are backstage appear on Twitter.
In between the waiting and the people coming into the room, there is a girl interviewing a few people. She laughs a little insecure and asks sometime a little weird questions, but I’m very glad to hear people’s opinions and to have a look backstage.
When the show was about to start I had to have dinner with my family, but luckily I put my laptop on another table in the corner that I still could see the show a little.
According to SIS by Spijkers en Spijkers the trends for the upcoming season are: colour blocking, graphical prints, big straw hats and especially booming colours on a quiet fabric.
SIS by Spijkers and Spijkers is aimed to fulfil the vision of the two sisters Spijkers for a wide range of people. This clothing line is based on their original label: a lot of graphical details, colour blocking and Art-Deco-influences from the twenties.
The second show is from Tony Cohen. Tony’s vibes and inspirations are: flower arrangements, curtain draping, incense, flower smells, music, art, fabrics, travelling all over the world. I’m curious what his inspiration source was for his upcoming collection.
“The cloths of Tony Cohen don’t where me, but I wear them.” This is a quote of one of the visitors who was wearing a dress of Tony Cohen, before the show.
Tony Cohen is using see-through fabrics with white/pastel/earth/flower colours combined with petrol blue. Some dresses are longer in the back and very floaty, also dresses till the ground are passing by. The style is very romantic with asymmetrical layered with ruffles and sometimes a sparkling touch because of the sequins. He also combined a lot of draping in his dresses, what he did before. The Dutch model Kim Feenstra wears 2 outfits. Because of the straight hair and the wedges, the collection is a little 70’s.
Tony Cohen himself told the interview-girl that his inspiration was the free-feeling of the seventies with a lot of other different inspirations.
What do you think of the two shows? Which one do you prefer?
In prefer the collection of Tony Cohen, he passed the colour blocking and went to the romantic and soft side.

Versace for H and M
Last week H&M was the proud announcer that its autumn 2011 designer collaboration will be with one of the world’s most legendary fashion brands, Versace. Designed by its creative director Donatella Versace, the exclusive collection will look back to the vibrant heritage of the brand, full of leather, print, colour and exuberance in exclusive materials at fantastic H&M prices. The collection will include ranges for women, men and selected pieces for the home. It will be available from 17 November in around 300 stores worldwide, as well as on-line. In addition, Donatella Versace has also designed a pre-spring collection for H&M which will be exclusively available in countries with H&M on-line sales from January 19, 2012.
"I am thrilled to be collaborating with H&M and to have the opportunity of reaching their wide audience. The collection will be quintessential Versace, perfect for H&M and Versace fans everywhere," says Donatella Versace.
"Versace is one of the most important brands of recent times, and their collection for H&M will be glamorous and flamboyant - everything Versace stands for. Donatella Versace is sharing with us iconic designs from the archives. This is such a celebratory collaboration and it is perfect for the party season, " says Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M.
Versace is a brand that is steeped in glamour to its very core. Founded in 1978 by Gianni Versace, his daring dresses and wild iconography revolutionized fashion, creating provocative styles from classical themes which were all cut with an impeccable design eye. Since 1997, Donatella Versace has continued Gianni Versace’s work as creative director, evolving the brand into a global fashion house at the forefront of what luxury means today. Famous worldwide for her signature wardrobe, Donatella Versace is the epitome of everything the Versace house stands for.
Versace is the latest house to collaborate with H&M on an exclusive designer collection, following the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, Jimmy Choo and, most recently, Lanvin. For H&M, Donatella Versace has looked back to the archives to reinterpret some classic Versace designs. The womenswear collection will be dominated by dresses that fit right in with the spirit of the season, featuring studded leather, silk and colorful print, with accessories including high heels and costume jewellery. The men’s collection will focus on sharp tailoring, including the perfect tuxedo, as well as belts and jewellery for men, too. For the first time in a designer collaboration at H&M the collection will consist of some homeware pieces, including cushions and a bedspread.
The dress Donatella is wearing in the pictures is from the upcoming H&M collection she designed. She was so proud that she wore it to her own show.
Down below more pictures that show some pieces of the collection.

Finally an affordable Birkin bag!
Today I was in the waiting room of the dentist where I read in a Dutch magazine ‘LINDA’ an amazing little piece about a bag.
Not just a ‘bag’, no! The model of the bag is very simple, but the design and the
idea behind the bag is flabbergasting. The bag is called ‘Together Bag’ and is printed with another bag that looks very like a Birkinbag from Hermès. The bag is available in the colors red, blue and camel and costs 45$. Which is in euros: 45 U.S. dollars = 30,7923909 Euro. The extra 19,95$ is to ship 1 bag, the more bags you ship the lower the shipping costs will be per bag. The total price will be: 46 euro's including the shipping fee. This is in comparison to a real Birkin bag, just, nothing! A real one is at least 100.000 $.
The Together bag is a canvas tote perfect for groceries, gym clothes, books, and extras. Take it shopping, or bring it to work/school. Pair it with your handbag or use it in place of one – you can work it into any day look. Look at this website to check it out:

Exhibition of Jean-Paul Gaultier in Rotterdam & Stake of Hermès
‘De kunsthal’ or art-lobby in Rotterdam has managed to be the one showing the first
exhibition of the work of J-P Gaultier. This show is travelling over the world and will be shown in springtime of 2013, from February till May. Yes, we have to wait a while before the exhibition starts, but I like that Holland has the scoop of this exhibition.
When you say Jean Paul Gaultier, you say: ‘Madonna’. Especially when he designed the pointy bra and the corsets in the 90’s the French 58-year fashion designer became known very well. Still he ‘wow’s’ everyone and attaches the attention on him by dressing Lady Gaga with his extravagant designs.
Meanwhile the French luxury brand Hermès wants to get rid of their 45 % stake they own of the fashion line of J-P Gaultier. Hermès is still negotiating with interested businesses.
J-P Gaultier was seven year long the creative-director of Hermès. A year ago he stopped because he wanted to focus on his own projects.
If you have any request on subjects, tell me!
You're the one who can make the best out of it!

I'm back!
Hi everybody!
First of all: I apologize for the fact that I’ve been absent for a long time. But I will assure you I will make it up! I decided to write my blogs from now on in English, because I like to attract a broader range of people. I still want to focus on subjects that appeal to me, mostly that has to do with fashion. If you have anything you want to say to me about a request, mistakes that I make or something else, leave a comment!
Next blog will come soon!
Did you already knew that Topshop is coming to Amsterdam in the store SPRMRKT? Isn’t this amazing, unfortunately not a big store, but better something than nothing!
Have a great day!
Karl Lagerfeld: I have no idea of the future -- never, ever. That's what I like about fashion. It's paradise now.

Jane Lynch haar speech:
Glee wint:

- Best Television Series - Comedy Or Musical
- Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series - Comedy Or Musical, Lea Michele (Rachel Berry)
- Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series - Comedy Or Musical, Matthew Morrison (Mr./Will Schuester)
- Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester)
- Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel)
Jane Lynch haar speech:
Glee wint:
Natuurlijk gaat het tijdens de Golden Globes er ook om hoe iedereen gekleed is.
